Trouble with setting latex custom build commands

Hello, First time poster here - nice to meet you everyone! I have a problem setting up custom latex commmands. For example, I'm trying to have a command to run pdflatex specifically on the file main.tex in the current directory (this should work everyone, so there are no projects involved in my query) The way I do it is I just copy the standard geany command, and replace "%f" with "main.tex", as in the screenshot here for the command "make main.tex": https://maths.lancs.ac.uk/grabows1/web/files/1.png However I never get anywhere with it - if I run the command the compiler window just lists the command like in this screenshot: https://maths.lancs.ac.uk/grabows1/web/files/2.png and nothing ever happens. This is the behaviour I seem to always end up with no matter where exactly I put the custom command, or what command exactly is used, as long as it involes pdflatex. Any help would be much appreciated! Best, Lukasz

Geany color conf files

Hello, I didn't know where to ask that, so here I am. I'd like to add a group of specific words highlighted in a different color from primary and secondary, is there a way to do that ? I get from here https://lists.geany.org/pipermail/users/2015-April/009593.html that we can not use the other reserved field. As it's for cpp files, do I have to modify my filetype.cpp, or is it in the given <colortheme>.conf ? If I can hack the stuff to add keywords to ppdefinitions, which is recognized as an entry, that would probably be the easiest. Regards,

Size of screen

Dear all, I am a new user of GEANY. I am using it on a Raspberry Pi 3 with a 7" screen (1024 x 600). Some of the menu items exceed the size of the screen and I can't move them up to make the OK or Save button available. Is there a setting limiting the screen to 1024 x 600 pixels? My thanks to Tony and Lex Confession: a few days ago I was working on the Save Actions plugin confg location and I believe that I stumbled onto an option the would combine all of the symbols of open files. Shame on me for not saving where it was located. Anyway, Lex is probably correct, and Tony pointed me to the section that I already and enabled. Thanks to you both. Problems with output math

Hello! I'm studying python through a book and I have a problem. The Geany output isn't showing the maths results. Just show the results when I put "print (1+1)".. What is the problem? I couldn't find the solution for it. Thanks for the help! Edmur

Disable break after execution (C++)

Hi. By default, Geany, after the execution of a code (in c++), puts in the terminal a "press enter key" break: the terminal stands by until the user press the enter key. Is there a way to disable this forced exiting mode? That is, to automatically close the terminal window after the execution of the program? Thank you. Xan

Many Thanks to Tony for his quick and accurate answer to my questions. I found the saveactions.conf file. Just what I was trying to locate. As to the question regarding the Geany version I submit this information. I have a total of 4 PI=4's all of which are running this file: 2021-05-07-raspios-buster-armhf-full.zip I believe that this is the latest available. I realize that this is a Geany support forum and that this subject is really out-of-bounds. I, also, know that probably there is some additional things that the Raspberry people do to Insert the Geany editor into the PI images. But, is there a way for a novice at this type editing to replace the version 1.33 code with the 1.38 code? Like, maybe, on the microSD card image before it is installed on the PI. Assistance with Geany SaveAction plugin

Greetings I have been using Geany for approximately 2 years and I like it very very much. My environment is Raspberry PI-4 with 8GB. I have multiple plugins installed including the saveaction. I would like to add to my PI upgrade bash scripts code to the options and to change the /tmp default folder for saving the files to one of my choosing. I have done a considerable searching, without much success to locate the configuration file. If someone can point me to the location it will be greatly appreciated. Also, the version of Geany that is installed on the PI is 1.33. Is there a process that I can use to upgrade to version 1.38? Thanks, Bob Robert L. Tag file loading fails.

Hi all I recently had to reinstall after an SSD death. However geany is not accepting my tag files. These are the same ones I used for a long time before. They are in pipe format. I tried loading them from Tools > Load Tags. In the status bar below, it says "Could not load tags file .....". In the debug message it says "Unknown filetype for file ..." I created a simple file and called it simple.txt.tags and it has the following stuff. # format=pipe testinga||| dingbat||| It still does not load and says unknown file type. What am I missing?
