Hi translators, developers and friends of Geany!
As Geany is getting a new major release, the Geany-Plugins are getting
too -- 1.38 will be released soon. It's been a while.
In preparation I have updated the po-files for Geany-Plugins at github
and asking you whether you could update translations, review them or
maybe add new languages.
As on Geany core, I'd be very happy if you could send a patch, a pull
request or single file with translation to either the geany-i18n mailing
list or direct to me within roughly the next two weeks so we can include
it to the next release. Deadline will be also 2021-10-08 24:00h CEST.
Let's make it the most complete translated release ever done for the
plugins!
To get most recent files you could just clone the repositories from
Geany: https://github.com/geany/geany-plugins
This can be done e.g. with
git clone https://github.com/geany/geany-plugins.git
Also at https://i18n.geany.org/plugins/ are statistics and daily updated
files available.
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ping me directly via
Jabber/XMPP: frlan(a)jabber.ccc.de
Matrix: @frlan:mtxsrv.org
or via Mail: look above or some of the mailing lists.
Happy translating!
Cheers,
Frank

I'm trying to create an inp file for abaqus in Geany.
There is a build command "Datacheck", but
I don't know how to use it.
(abaqus = "%f" interactive datacheck)
When I press Datacheck, I get an error saying that the specified file cannot be found.
Of course I have installed Abaqus CAE.
Do I need to specify where Abaqus is located?
Hi folks,
I'm sorry -- not much time lately …
A friend brought to my attention that there have been some unfunny
events at freenode-network where our chat is also hosted at the moment.
To be honest I did not yet follow this topic up and really lagging
details (Anyone can give up some details here?) -- I want to ask for the
future of the IRC chat? What do you think?

Greetings from Colombia;
Somewhat new to this type of support, so please pardon any faux-pas.
I'm getting into programming and quite some time ago Geany was recommended
by some fellow programmers. I wrote HTML, YAML, Python, C++ with Geany.
Just started an intro to Programming class on Udacity. They are
recommending Atom, but I'd rather stick with Geany...
Now, in the NewFile pull down, there are a ton of options for defaults,
which I assume also add the auto-complete files.
I don't see file.css nor file.js in there. Looking in the web for "geany
javascript" repeatedly confirms that JavaScript is supported, but I haven't
been able to find instructions on how to get .css and .js and the
associated autocomplete to work.
Any help would be greatly appreciated...
Cheers;

Dear translators and friends of Geany,
After nearly another year we are on the final road to Geany 1.38. I hope
you are all well!
In preparation (and as always) I've just updated po-files for Geany core
project inside github repositories and asking you whether you could
update translations, review them or maybe add new languages.
I'd be very happy if you could send a patch, a pull request or single
file with translation to either the geany-i18n mailing list or direct
to me within the next two weeks so we can include it to the next
release. Deadline will be 2021-10-08 24:00h CET. This gives us about two
weeks time to improve translations \o/
To get most recent files you could just clone the repositories from
Geany: https://github.com/geany/geany
This can be done e.g. with
git clone https://github.com/geany/geany.git
You can find daily updated po files at
https://www.geany.org/contribute/translation/statistics/ too, which
includes some statistics.
If your language was translated by two or more in past, please double
check directly with them or by pinging me, so we don't need to
translate same things two or three times. Also please feel to ping me
for every question or if you like to start a new translation for an
unsupported language.
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ping me directly via
Jabber/XMPP: frlan(a)jabber.ccc.de
Riot/Matrix: @frlan:mtxsrv.org
or via Mail: look above or some of the mailing lists. ;)
Thanks and happy translating
Frank

Well.... I still don't know if this email is going to the right place. 🙁
If it is, and if anyone wants to see Ray A's Font Mod, or even my own
attempt 😅

NOW THEN, I still can't change my $ colour, BUT, at least it shows up a
bit clearer now!
Is there a way to change the PHP $ variable symbol to a different
colour. My eyesight isn't the best and also I'm dyslexic, so I tend to
struggle a bit with the likes of $STOP, $TOP, $$STEP Etc. I prefer to
use a lot of capitalized variable names as they are clearer to read. I
have set up my personal Geany colour scheme, but I just can't find where
to change the $ colour. Any help will be great :)
Many thanks,
Chris.
Greetings all
Two questions about configuration of Geany on Raspberry PI-4.
1. What do most user use as the default keyboard shortcuts for the
Format Comments line(s) and UncommentlLine(s)?
(I use this a lot I had a Collage professor call me out in classI got the
only A--in a class of 30+ for my use of comments in an exercise. I put a lot
of comments in my code.)
2. Is there an option to hide/unhide the comment sections when the
*.sh file is opened? (the little +/- symbol that appears in the left hand
column)
Thanks,
Bob
