Hi,
It seems there's no way to start geany to open a file in a "read-only"
mode.
Would it be a lot of work to add such a command line option? Don't
bother if it is. :-)

Hi,
As I couldn't find out if someone already build such a file here is
(enclosed) my javascript tags file to enable javascript auto-completion ...
Alternative link : http://dl.yent.eu/em.js.tags
I extracted stuff from the W3C JS/DOM reference so it does not include
jquery/dojo and such related tags (personally I don't need them) but
since it is really easy to add other tags ...
Btw once more I really love geany's flexibility when it comes to
customization ...

Hello list...
This is my 2nd day using Geany.
I'm editing an HTML file. I want to insert, e.g. <b></b> around a
phrase in the content. Is there a way to select the phrase, and have
geany insert the appropriate HTML tag? TIA...

The GPL seems weird for a webpage to have in its source code because I don't
think of webpages as programs or "software" as the template says. Why is the
GPL used for a webpage? I understand it's good for some of the other things
that people use Geany to make because those are actual programs. Would the
GNU Free Documentation License or a Creative Commons license be more
applicable for webpages? I think I might make some more templates with one of
these licenses and/or the HTML 5 format.
Hi All,
Is there a way to set a keybinding to copy the current file path? Or a
right-click action on the files sidebar? Or a way to set a keybinding
for the "file properties" window?
It's just that it is often desirable to get the current file path in the
clipboard and I can't find a method other than choosing File >
Properties and then copying the location from the dialogue box.
When I try to use gconf-editor to set the keybinding for File >
Preferences it fails to set it.
Thanks much.

Hello (first time on this list)
Just a question, maybe something I can hack, maybe something somebody else
needs to hack?
I have php code that looks like this:
function puctstatus($puctid) {
...
}
The 'Symbols' list in the sidebar then lists for me the function name and
all is good.
However if my code is like this:
function puctstatus($puctid,
$category,
$flags) {
.....
}
Then the function is not recognised and does not appear in the symbols list.
Is there a file somewhere full of regex type codes that I can edit to modify
this or is it all hardcoded in a program somewhere?
Cheers

No, there is currently no new translation cycle planned as at least for
Geany core most of the things intended to go into 0.20 are done and no
new strings will be added. Of course we can update translations files
until release to improve them. For doing this, just send me a patch or
an updated po files. Just as you are used to do :)
Cheers,
Frank
Hi all,
We're planning to make a Geany 0.20 release once everything is ready.
Probably this will be around December 20th.
So if anyone wants to help test SVN trunk, now's a good time to
do so:
http://www.geany.org/Download/SVN
That link also has nightly tarballs and some binaries too. The SVN
version may be buggy and as always there are no guarantees, but
I find it quite stable and use it every day. Backup your data.
For plugin developers, it would be great if you can test your plugin
against Geany SVN trunk and update it if necessary.
Regards,
Nick
Hi translators and friends of Geany-(Plugins),
After we are on finishing line with Geany 0.20, I'm happy we also have
a string freeze for the combined Geany-plugins project which is also
planned to be released in next future.
As always on such mails, I'd be very happy if you could send a patch or
complete file with translation to either the geany-i18n mailing list or
direct to me within the next two weeks so we can include it to the next
release. Deadline will be 2010-12-28.
To make it more easy for you I've already uploaded updated versions of
the po files to svn with r1778. You can access them as always at
http://geany.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/geany-plugins/trunk/geany-plugins
or by checking out the svn tree of Geany by using e.g.
svn co https://geany.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/geany-plugins/trunk/geany-plugins geany-plugins
Fans of git can also use the interface provided by http://git.geany.org
by using
git clone http://git.geany.org/git/geany-plugins
Also at http://i18n.geany.org/plugins are statistics and daily updated
files available.
As mentioned before, we are trying to have all translations complete by
2010-12-28.
If your language was translated by two or more in past, please double
check directly with them or by pinging me, so we don't need to translate
same things two or three times. Also please feel to ping me for every
question or if you like to start a new translation for an unsupported
language.
Thanks and happy translating ;)

Hi translators and friends of Geany,
As Nick already mentioned on Geany-devel mailing list [1] we are
entering home stretch for our next major release of Geany: 0.20 which
is planned to be released around 2012-12-20 with a delay of 2 month
on 5th anniversary of Geany ;)
After 0.19.1 and 0.19.2 were only fixing a couple of bugs and
doing only small improvements during the last month, the new release
will introduce a number of improvements, bugfixes and of course also new
features. Unfortunately this means for us translators, that there are a
number of strings which needs to be translated and/or reviewed before
we can ship the new release. Therefor I like to ask all 'old' and maybe
new translators to check the translations so we really could put in
updated translations files into the new release.
I'd be very happy if you could send a patch or complete file with
translation to either the geany-i18n mailing list or direct to me
within the next two weeks so we can include it to the next release.
Deadline will be 2010-12-18.
