Hello Everyone,
I have Geany downloaded and installed on my computer. It is windows 10,64 bit, build 1803. I have also downloaded and installed Python 3.7 64 bit.
When I press the compile icon in Geany (1.33), I receive the following error message at the bottom of the screen. "Process failed (The system cannot find the file specified)"
I would also like to setup Geany for Python 3.
Any help is appreciated, thank you!

...the terminal would follow the frontmost open document, if the
latter was saved to disk locally. Now it doesn't and I can't find the
preference that would change it. (In previous versions it was as
conspicuous as a goiter, to use a banal cliche.)
What happened?

Geany 1.32 (GTK 3.22.26, GLib 2.54.1)
Hi,
I just begin to use Geany. It is really a very good IDE. I use GCBASIC
to create programs for microchips PIC.
I use Linux version, UBUNTU.
Everything works but when there are errors after compilation, I can see
error lines in red in Compiler tab, when I click on line,
it doesnt jump to the line in editor.
I get error, ther Cannot open file ...
Here are my screenshots.
I make a simple program for testing.
There is screen shot after compilation with errors.
The second is after click on line with error.
At the bottom You cacn see there is error opening file. But the file is
opened in editor.
It is bug or something need to be setted ?
Please help
Thank You
Andrej
I've tried a long time to find a way to make the tiny dots bigger or
change color, that show empty spaces between characters.
Not sure if the size of empty space dots are controlled by the font
selected.
If so, there's little difference in dozens of Linux fonts, for size of
spaces indicators - even if bold is selected. Generally, I use some
mono bold font.
No idea if "spaces dots" color can be specified in a Geany color scheme,
or if they're set to the same color as some other characters or...?
Often I can't see some empty space dots unless I move close to the
monitor. Those with perfect vision probably don't notice this.
Periods are often not big enough or enough contrast for scanning or
editing code.
Some fonts (e.g., mono on bold) may make periods or single quote /
apostrophe a little bigger, but not much.
When I eliminate all fonts that don't put a slash or dot in zeroes,
there aren't many left to find one with larger empty spaces dots or
larger periods / commas, unless I choose a huge font size.
What "symbols" in the symbol list font selection does Geany preferences
refer to?
Thanks.
How do I get Geany to automatically pick up the fully qualified classname from the java project that I'm working on in order to run the project?
I'm trying to import some java applications I had previously written elsewhere (Windows + Eclipse, though I've only imported the java files, not attempting to import projects). I've been looking at https://wiki.geany.org/howtos/configurebuildmenu but can't seem to get the settings right.
So far I've worked out how to get javac up and running. I'm using this entry in the build menu:
Command field: javac "%f" -d /home/me/Documents/Java/Classes -cp /home/me/Documents/Java/Classes
so that it finds source files and leaves classfiles in the structure below:
/home/me/Documents/Java/Source/ProjectA
/home/me/Documents/Java/Source/Utilities/etc/etc
/home/me/Documents/Java/Classes/....
As I said, this looks like it is working ok.
The problem is what command string to use in the execute part of the build menu. I've tried:
Command field: java -classpath /home/me/Documents/Java/Classes "%e"
Working directory field: /home/me/Documents/Java/Classes
However I'm getting the error: "Error: Could not find or load main class".
Clearly I can see that it doesn't have the right form of classname in it. I know the java command is supposed to use the Fully Qualified Classname of the form "java com.example.ProjectA". Obviously I want it to pick this up automatically from the project. How do I do this?
Thanks for any clues
