Hi,
It seems there's no way to start geany to open a file in a "read-only"
mode.
Would it be a lot of work to add such a command line option? Don't
bother if it is. :-)

Hi all,
I'm a refugee from the Nedit text editor and have now moved to Geany
after a very brief fling with Gedit.
I'm on Linux and have 8 virtual desktops and I often work on different
projects on different desktops. If I run gedit from the command line
gedit will start a new instance if there isn't already a running
instance on the current virtual desktop.
I know I can do 'geany -i <file>' to open a new instance, but I was
wondering if the behaviour of Gedit could be matched with Geany.

Hi all!
In new version 0.19 there's a bug with the keybindings like ctrl+c,
ctrl+x in non-english keyboard layout.
The keybindigs don't work at all until I switch layout to english.
Old version 0.18 worked properly.
(os: archlinux, de: xfce)
Cheers,

Hey guys,
I just found myself writing a bit more shell script code and thus wrote
some quick snippets into my snippets.conf for making this easier and
faster.
The case..esac construct actually is a bit quirky and I wanted to spare
the efforts of writing this to anyone who may has to work a lot with
Shell scripting...
So, anyone who's interested can copy this into his or her snippets.conf:
[Sh]
if=if [ %cursor% ]; then\n\t%cursor%\nfi
for=for i in `%cursor%`;\ndo\n\t%cursor%\ndone
else=else\n\t%cursor%
case=case %cursor% in \n\t%cursor%)\n\t\t%cursor%\n\t\t;;\n\t%cursor%)\n
\t\t%cursor%\n\t\t;;\n\t*)\n\t\t%cursor%\n\t\t;;\nesac\n%cursor%
(Note the case construct is one line, actually.)

Dominic

Dear all
Is it possible to use the `#' string for snippets? I would like to
define smth similar to
[R]
#=### TODO
but this is treated like a comment.
Thank you
Liviu
Hi all,
I'm really new to Geany and I'm trying to figure out how use the
regex search and replace with and end of line marker.
For instance, in perl/python regex syntax, I'd like to replace
"\s+$" (all whitespace at the end of each line) with "", where
'$' is the end of line marker. The regex in Geany doesn't seem
to under stand '$' and I can't figure out how else to do.
Clues anyone?

hi,
does anyone else have this problem:
when printing from a dark background,
each character has a dark background
on the printout, too? any ideas for
fixes other than changing color scheme?
