Hi translators,
You know it: As Geany is getting a new major release, the plugins are
getting updated too. This time: 1.31.
In preparation I have updated the po-files for Geany-Plugins at github
and asking you whether you could update translations, review them or
maybe add new languages.
As on Geany core, I'd be very happy if you could send a patch, a pull
request or single file with translation to either the geany-i18n mailing
list or direct to me within the next week so we can include it to
the next release. Deadline will be also 2017-07-07 CET.
To get most recent files you could just clone the repositories from
Geany: https://github.com/geany/geany-plugins
This can be done e.g. with
git clone https://github.com/geany/geany-plugins.git
Also at http://i18n.geany.org/plugins are statistics and daily updated
files available.
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ping me directly via
IRC: geany @freenode (frlan)
Jabber/XMPP: frlan(a)jabber.ccc.de
or via Mail: look above or some of the mailing lists.
Happy translating!
Cheers,
Frank
Dear translators and friends of Geany,
We are on the final meters for Geany 1.31.
In preparation I've updated po-files for Geany core project
inside github repositories and asking you whether you could update
translations, review them or maybe add new languages.
I'd be very happy if you could send a patch, a pull request or single
file with translation to either the geany-i18n mailing list or direct
to me within the next week so we can include it to the next
release. Deadline will be 2017-07-07 24:00hCET.
To get most recent files you could just clone the repositories from
Geany: https://github.com/geany/geany
This can be done e.g. with
git clone https://github.com/geany/geany.git
You can find daily updated po files at http://i18n.geany.org too, which
includes some statistics.
If your language was translated by two or more in past, please double
check directly with them or by pinging me, so we don't need to
translate same things two or three times. Also please feel to ping me
for every question or if you like to start a new translation for an
unsupported language.
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ping me directly via
IRC: geany @freenode
Jabber/XMPP: frlan(a)jabber.ccc.de
or via Mail: look above or some of the mailing lists.
Thanks and happy translating
Frank
Only used Geany about 3 mo - quite a bit. I modified my own color
scheme, to learn about it, but don't use it exclusively.
Regardless of many tried color schemes - even default - there's almost
no syntax color for some files like resource files - gtkrc - Gtk2 theme
resource file; or the ~/.gtkrc-2.0 file.
But if I open those files in Linux's - xed - simple text editor, it
shows much more syntax color, some syntax errors and clearly all
commented lines.
Don't know the lack of color is because Geany doesn't recognize the
files, or there's not a geany "filetypes.*" file for this type of file?
Under Document > Set file type, Geany has gtkrc & .gtkrc-2.0 set as
config files. Don't know if that's correct.
Is there a proper way to show more color in files like gtkrc?
Experimenting, I can set the files as another type and Geany shows more
color, but I'm not sure if most of the colors correspond to anything
meaningful from a programming view.
Hello,
I got a question about project support in geany:
Is there a way to open multiple projects at the same time?
I had a look at the plugins "Project Organizer" and "GeanyPrj".
Although this plugins improve the project support it does not seem to be
possible to manage several projects at once.
Am I overseeing something? Are there other plugins on different sites
than http://plugins.geany.org/ which support multiple projects?
Thanks for any answers in advance.
Kind Regards,
Lars
Hi All,
Geany 1.2.8
The Secondary Selection clipboard in not working. This
is a real productivity killer as the cursor keeps
flying around.
[editorial comment] AAAAA HHHHHH !!!!! [/editorial comment]
Where do I go to report this?
Many thanks,
-T
p.s. for those you who don't know what I am talking about,
here is a good video that describes all four X11 clipboards.

Hi All,
Geany seems to be the almost perfect text editor even for a non coder.
It is fast and well organized. Markdown + GeanyPrj + Numbered Bookmarks
and everything runs smooth.
Is there a way to center text on screen? It will still be left aligned,
but the column of text would be something like 60% and centered on
screen or in the window.
Something like this:

Also, is there a way to make the full screen a true full screen and make
everything disappear, including the menu bar?
Cheers,
Peter
