Request: Add Povray lexer

Greetings to all, Posting this to request that the Povray lexer be added back into Geany if possible. Currently, there are two editors I know of that have support for the Povray SDL coded into them, Scite and the bundled editor for the Windows version of Povray. For me, the first is a bit too spartan and the second, being on Windows which I haven't used in years, isn't an option. I looked into compiling the source for Geany myself but it appears the Povray lexer code is not included with the source. I use Geany for a number of other coding projects and it would be wonderful to add Povray along as well. Thanks for your time and consideration.

How to launch geany as root

How do we launch geany as root with the same geany setting of non-root / normal user geany tried to do such and kept on being end up with another 'strange' geany How actually correct way to launch the same geany, but now it's as root

Ctrl+G search position different to "next" in find sub-window

I am wanting to set the "search position" (the place on the geany page where the found text is highlighted) to the same position that is used when clicking "next" in the find sub-window. Is there a setting for this? I checked the ~/.config/geany/geany.conf and I could only see: position_fif_x=-1 & position_fif_y=-1 I changed them and reloaded the config and it seemed to have no effect. Regards Ripspin

Can't figure out "Project Organizer"

I've installed the "Project" organizer plugin, but I can't figure out how to make it do anything useful. How do you get it to index the source files so you can search for functions, variables, etc? The "Reload All" button does nothing. The only symbols that show up in the sidebar are for currently opened files. The doc says: Reload all - reloads the project file tree and reindexes the files (if symbol generation enabled). This is useful when files were added, modified externally or removed from the project. How does one enable symbol generation? There's a drop-down box at the right of the project pane in the sidebar, but it has nothing but an unlabled checkbox (which doesn't seem to have any noticable effect on anything). -- Grant

I did find a link in the Info for Users page ( https://lists.geany.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/users) For a seach tool but it does not work (for me, as of now) - seems broken. Is this temporary? http://news.gmane.org/gmane.editors.geany.general

using shortcuts in sidebar

hi i like low ressource using geany on my netbook very much! something i miss (maybe i couldn't find it): is there a way to use shortcuts for jumping from editor to sidebar AND switch with shortcuts the tabs (files, documents, symbols) in sidebar (ctrl+tab switches in editor the open files) AND going back to editor? thanks a lot. lgs

Are the Archives searchable?

Hi. New user here. I would search the archived threads for solutions to my question but searching it month by month seems a pain. Is there a tool to search the entire archive at once? And while I'm here.... in case there is a simple fix for my underlying question..... I love Geany. I do find it difficult to distinguish the active tab - it only has very tiny rounded corners. Is there a way to change settings to make the active tab more distinct? Thanks.

Geany's GPG key has expired?

Greetings. I'm not that familiar with mailing lists so I hope I'm posting this correctly. Option to collapse the commented areas

I use Geany to edit *.sh files. I have always added LOTS of comments in my programs. However, when I'm editing, I don't always need all of them showing. Example: I want it to automatically open the file this way Bob MIers -- This email has been checked for viruses by AVG. https://www.avg.com

copy line numbers with selected line or area

Does Geany or any plugins have an option to copy the (current) line number(s) with one or more selected & copied lines? I can't find such an option in Geany built in prefs, nor in any plugins. Like out of a large file & only a few random lines are copied to another file, AND you may want to refer back to the orig. document, to view UNcopied lines that are near the copied line. Sometimes you might want to see what was executed or logged just before or after lines that were copied. Thanks. --
