Hi!
It's a bit late, but I just want to announce that we have released version 0.20 of the Geany Plugins, which requires Geany 0.20. Tarballs and their corresponding GPG signatures can be found at http://plugins.geany.org/downloads.html
A comprehensive list of changes can be found at http://plugins.geany.org/geany-plugins/geany-plugins-0.20.NEWS

Hi,
Thanks for your help for such great plugin. I use Traditional Chinese. SpellCheck can not work well due to choosing language. How can I fix it?
Pop out dialog shows: The Enchant library couldn't be initialized (unknown error (maybe the chosen language is not available)).
In Debug message, it shows: 13:54:43: SpellCheck WARNING : Stored language ('en') could not be loaded.
Best regards, Sam

Can you choose other languages in the configuration dialog of the plugin? If not, make sure you have some aspell, ispell or myspell dictionaries installed.

Hi,
It will show out the message I mentioned. Under the configuration dialog, I can not choose any language. (Here is no any language in the list.) I had install aspell, NotePad++ work well. What configuration should I set for aspell, e.g. PATH variable? (For example, C:\Tools\Aspell\bin is at the list of PATH variable.)
If I enable spell plugin, geany will crash with data append below: (Sorry for Traditional Chinese items.) I use Win7-64bits.

Ah, you are on Windows. That's good to know :).
Anyway, as you noticed the error handling and reporting in the SpellCheck plugin isn't as good as it could be. At some time, I'll improve this. Did you try to set the dictionary path in the preferences dialog to the directory where you dictionary files reside? I guess it's somewhere in C:\Tools\Aspell..., I don't remember the path layout on Windows.
If I enable spell plugin, geany will crash with data append below:
Oops. Unfortunately, the crash information (also not the screenshot) don't help me.

Hi,
I can assign the path of dictionary. (i.e. "Directory to look for dictionary files".) But I can not choose "Language to use for the spell check".
And sorry for confusing you. What making crash is not "SpellCheck" but "TreeBrowser." After disable "TreeBrowser", geany can run again.
Best regards, Sam

I have also experienced a crash using TreeBrowser, but I found that disabling the "Show Hidden Files" option fixed it. Considering, however, that I see config.sys right now, I don't think that the option is even necessary.
Cheers, Jon

Yes, the issue is triggered by files e.g. ending with ~. IMHO reason here is a free of a not correct initialized variable as I did mentioned at sf ticket -> http://yaturl.net/f04a

Treebrowser if full of memory allocation related problems, see today's IRC log :)

Yes, C:\tools\aspell would have been enough. Sorry for not being clear enough.
C:\TOOLS ├─Aspell │ ├─bin │ ├─data │ ├─dict │ └─doc │ ├─html │ └─text
Could you post also the contents of C:\Tools\Aspell\dict?
The dict directory should contain some .aff und .dic files.

Ok, now we got the problem. I should have seen it before already when you posted the path C:\Tools \Aspell...
You need MySpell dictionary files (on Windows for the dictionary path setting). This is more or less a requirement of Enchant which implemented the feature to set a specific path for dictionary files only for their MySpell backend.
