It works, except that now it changes the left margin background (only for this document's pane) to be a lighter shade of gray than the rest of them, and also (again, only for this pane) makes the left margin line numbers foreground white (or maybe the same almost-white as my document foreground?).
I think this should be fixed now(SVN r1391). Hopefully, it doesn't have any other side effects again ;-).
