You could try editing the filetype.sh file [styling] section (Tools->Configuration files->Filetype configuration->scripting languages->filetypes.sh) to map all syntactic elements to default style. Those lines are element=style so all should be =default. Never tried it myself.

What does the filetype in the status bar at the bottom say?
Note the filetype is per document, not a single setting for all docs.
You can make files open as none by setting the option in the open dialog.
