[Geany] A read-only command line option

Hi, It seems there's no way to start geany to open a file in a "read-only" mode. Would it be a lot of work to add such a command line option? Don't bother if it is. :-) Regards, ST --

[Geany] Very slow file saving over SSH

I'm using Geany 0.18 on Ubuntu 10.04, and accessing files via the built-in SSH browser in GNOME. Problem is, saving files is *really slow*. Like, about 5 seconds. And they're weany files too (bit of HTML & CSS). I've set the `Disk Check Timeout` to 0 but with no perceivable benefit. It's funny, because this behaviour only seems to apply to Linux servers (I have an account with Dreamhost) and not with a couple of Windows servers that I've had access to (running IIS I do believe). It's even funnier because gedit is super-speedy in saving the same files. Any ideas? mtia, Jake

[Geany] Bad code completion.

Hi all, I'm coding in Haskell and find that if I type 'do' and then hit the <tab> key I get the a couple of lines of code for a C do/while loop. It looks like: llvmVarOfExp2 (XUnbox t v) = do { } while () which is definitelu not Haskell code :-). How do I switch this off? At least for Haskell. [Geany] Javascript.tags

Hi, sorry when this was probably addressed before (I couldn't find it neither in this mailing list nor with the help of g) and frankly the paragrapg in the manual, I could not understand. Simply can't figure out why there are no symbols for *.js files available in the sidebar. Loading a python file *.py the symbols are directly available in the sidebar and accessible, dito even for geany's config files. How can I get that also for javascript files ? Wondering why it is not part of geany (javascript is not that unpopular a programming language in the web) best regards Stefan

[Geany] Russian version of Geany 0.19 manual online

Hi users and friends of Geany, A couple of weeks Denis Koryavov sent a Russian translation for Manual of Geany 0.19. For some reason I missed to forward it to the list (mea culpa) but today I've finally uploaded his version to the Geany server so everybody can access it by going to http://geany.org/manual/0.19_ru/ Thanks very much. Hi all, Geany 0.19.1 has been released. This is a bugfix release including fixes for broken autocompletion, document detection on Windows and various other issues. There are also some tweaks including ignoring background colors when printing. [Geany] Octave and comment character.

Hi, I have a question concerning the Octave/Matlab syntax highlighting. The syntax of Octave and Matlab is mostly the same. However, Octave allows the symbol # to mark comments, but it isn't highlighted in Geany. I thought that copying the file 'filetypes.matlab' to ~/.config/geany/filedefs and changing the lines comment_open=% comment_close= to comment_open=# comment_close= would do the trick. But for some reason it doesn't. It still uses % as a comment symbol and ignores #. What am I doing wrong? Greetings, Laurent.

[Geany] select entire function in Symbols sidebar

Dear all I've been using the R parser that generates a list of functions in the current document and displays them in Symbols sidebar. Is it possible to configure Geany (via an action, c-menu item or similar) to select a given R function (listed in Symbols), preparing it for instant re-definition (using ctrl+r, here)? I am not sure how symbols/parsers work, so would this depend on the R parser or on the Geany interface? Thank you Liviu
