[Please excuse a possible duplicate post, I did not receive it myself.]
Hello,
For a mysterious reason, geany started to run full screen. ??? No title, no window at all, but menus and icons ok. It ran ok earlier --today-- yesterday and I did not switch off the computer in the meanwhile. Could not find any setting on the topic. The issue is not for working inside geany, but for switching between apps, for I have no more panel available -- need to quit geany completely, using the menu since ctrl+q does not work, neither. Very, very, annoying.
Hints welcome...
ubuntu 9.10, geany 0.18

sounds like, asuimng you're running gnome, that either metacity, or gnome-panel died, probably both. You could actually use the integrated terminal in geany to restart them, 'gnome-session & exit'

Ok, I'll half answer myself. Found in /.config/geany/geany.conf a line: fullscreen=true setting it to false solved the problem as expected.
But I have no idea how it first got set to true. Also, could not find matching setting in preferences GUI. But I noticed that geany.conf is rewritten by geany at each run, at quit time actually, even when preferences were not changed by the user.
By the way, how to change the key binding for file-quit? (missing in the list)

Maybe pressed F11 or the concerning keybinding by accident?

If it's missing in the list, I assume it is not configurable (yet).

Ctrl-Q works fine here(Xfce with xfwm4 as window manager) when Geany is in fullscreen.

View->Fullscreen

Most probably. Geany won't switch to fullscreen by itself :).

Indeed. But Ctrl-Q is a quite common default and Alt-F4 should work on most systems as well.
