Not sure if this is a bug for a feature request. When I type:
geany /etc/somenewfile
geany will not know the file. The header will state "new file" and saving it will prompt for a name. Is this bug on my part, or is this a feature that hasn't been implemented?

Which version of Geany do you use? When I open a new file this way, Geany uses the given filename and doesn't ask for a filename when saving.

It's probably 10.2, ummm, yep definitely. I'll be able to try the new build if that what's recommended.

Yes, that should help. Current version is 0.11.

Ah, very prompt. k, I just installed and got geany-0.11 up and running. And... it's working now. thank the jesus. I'm learning some of the basics of script writing and just needed it for basic configuration, so this is very very helpful.
On a side note geany in gentoo's official tree now, nice work!

Thanks should go to Samuli Suominen (maintainer in Gentoo) for that, and of course for whole geany team. :-)
