Hey,
I just found a bug in the Preferences dialog:
1. Open the preferences. 2. Enter "gnome-terminal" instead of xterm. 3. Click Apply or Ok.
Here is the full dump from the console:
rowan@pixelcarnage:~$ geany geany: /home/rowan/mono/lib/libpng12.so.0: no version information available (required by /usr/lib/libcairo.so.2) ** INFO: debug mode built in (can't be disabled) ** INFO: GTK+ 2.8.20, GLib 2.10.3 ** INFO: /home/rowan/Dump/Farkup.fe : Ferite (UTF-8) ** INFO: /home/rowan/Dump/Farkup.txt : None (UTF-8) Segmentation fault
Let me know if there is anything I can do to get more info on this, and thanks for all the good work guys.
Thanks, Rowan.

Don't do that. The first thing is, gnome-terminal is not supported because it is an application and not an emulation type. The second thing is that currently only xterm is supported(AFAIK).
We already had that problem, see http://lists.uvena.de/pipermail/geany/2006-April/000062.html.
As a workaround, I'll add an additional note in the tooltip to note change this value.
