For syntax highlighting see other email thread.
Simple build command setting is covered in the manual where they can be set for a project or user (see the wiki https://wiki.geany.org/howtos/configurebuildmenu for extended info) or if you create a new filetype (custom or built-in) the build commands can be set for that.

I just created the wiki page https://wiki.geany.org/config/lilypond with the settings I use(d). It's not perfect, but it's a start. Feel free to improve.

good initiative, now i continu to use vim, may be geany for more using... peraps use geany in vim mode withe bépo keybindings...
