There is a lexxer available for Metapost in Scintilla from what I did see, but I doubt, this will be included into 0.16 since we're allready in a late state of release cycle for upcoming release.

Besides that, a few notes about what Metapost is and example files would be very, very useful for those of us who don't know what this is.
