Hi, you can get two panes with the splitwindow plugin.
To get multiple windows you need to run multiple instances of Geany, just be aware that the configuration is shared between them, the last one closed will save its configuration over any others.

I think he refers to tile a single window in tile (views or split) so one can read or edit many parts of the same document within the same window
