I can't believe I figured it out. I added sudo chown root:root "%e" && sudo chmod 4755 "%e" && "./%e" to the build commands, and this worked. (I thought for sure it would raise permission issues) Thank you for entertaining my query.

that's what I thought would happen, but this is not the case. It works quite well, and never asks for permission. I rebooted, wrote a new program, tried it on another computer (RPI). works every time. (no Im not running geany as root) geany 1.37 & 1.38

I just tried this on a regular x86_64 Linux (ubnuntu) installation, and the expected prompt appears.

Believe I'd put this in a Makefile, or even script. Rather than clutter the geany build command. That way it can be built without geany or even graphics running.
