We are happy to announce a new release of Geany!
This is a bug fix release following the recent release of Geany 1.37.
On Windows, Geany crashed on startup without an existing configuration file. This release fixes this bug and Geany will startup normally again.
Other operating systems were not affected.
As usual, all downloads can be found on https://www.geany.org/download/releases/.

on my Windows (10 newest) 1.37 never crashed but loading a project takes a very long time; if that is the future then please keep 1.36 on the project..

Nothing has changed other than a startup crash on new installs.
But none of the regular contributors use Geany on windows 10 much so if you don't report your issues it with how to reproduce and measurements of how much its slower then we won't know and will have no way of fixing it. Simply going back to the previous version silently is doing yourself and others a disservice.
if that is the future then please keep 1.36 on the project..
See the website, releases back to 1.27 are still on the downloads.

well, calling that a 'slow startup' would be flattering! loading each file takes long and at the end there is more less the same complete time span to show up that may not be a bug, but 1.36 as long as it exists..
