Hi,
since upgrading to 0.20 "Disra", typing an underscore in any file with .tex extension will immediately appear as _{} . Can anyone confirm/enlighten?
Steps to reproduce: open new file, save as test.tex, type an underscore, observe _{}
geany --version
geany 0.20 (built on Jan 6 2011 with GTK 2.22.1, GLib 2.26.1, GIO)
-- "It's zero-zum. Who's on the other side? Who's the idiot?" "Düsseldorf. Stupid Germans. They take rating agencies serious. They believe in the rules."

This is a feature of geanyLaTeX and can be configured as described on http://yaturl.net/ff97 (Autocompletion of {} after _ and ^).
(somebody needs to update the online manual and I assume its most likely to be me .... however, it could be also found on geanylatex.pdf inside the package)
Cheers, Frank

It is usually safer to put subscripts in braces, yes.

In case of you want to write a _ its most likely unwished behavior. However, I do see its not supporting this case as you can see from sources at e.g. http://yaturl.net/cfbf at the moment. Maybe I should patch it.

Thanks to all, turning off worked fine.
Actually, I was composing a document with tons of pictures named
variable1_mode3_version8_red_big.png
and it got a bit annoying there. Great that it's configurable!

Maybe it should be configurable with turning it on/off on runtime. Maybe via keystroke.... Hmmm... Let's see whether I do have some insomnia upcoming weekend ;)

Wasn't this complicated to add a keystroke ... ;) Done with svn r1920 on stand alone/trunk version of GeanyLaTeX.

To don't add {} in such a case I've just put a patch with r1921 to GeanyLaTeX trunk.
