Hello, Is there another way to rename or delete projects than by editing geany.conf (the last section) and deleting or renaming files in ~/projects ? It looks like I am overlooking something. egbert

One of my projects is about experiments with the Levenshtein (!) algorithm. I had called it 'Leven'. Because Leven means Life in dutch, after a week I didn't see immediately what the project was about. So I wanted to rename it. And for the purpose of this answer I created a new project Testing. But now I can't get rid of it, unless I delete the two elevant files in the projects directory, and edit the geany.conf file. egbert

There is no such functionality in Geany. I think there is not much need for. You just need to rename the project folder and the project file, then re-open the project in Geany, edit the project name in the Project Properties dialog if necessary and you are done. Well, if you want to keep the project's session, you should maybe open the project file in Geany and search&replace the paths of the filenames but well, this shouldn't be too hard.

Are you sure ? Am I such an exception ? None of my projects is eternal, one or two of them are long term ones, but most of them are short lived, each of them involving a couple of files. For the solitary files I have a special group that is constantly updated.
I don't want to let this list of projects grow endlessly, so an easy way of removing the obsolete ones is welcome. Renaming is less necessary, but once in a while a group changes character, or I made a mistake while naming it.
Otherwise the concept of projects is a good one, and you implemented it very well. Projects fit my brain, and they made my life a lot easier. Thanks for that. Egbert

? I don't use projects as of now because sessions fit my needs (they act implicit projects), but if I would, for sure deleting them would be needed.

Well, maybe I'm just wrong and there is actually a need for. At least you are the first one requesting this feature :).
We probably could include a patch if anyone wants to work on this or it could also be implemented as a plugin or just a shell script :).
