In my previous editor, ultraedit, line wrapping would be available in the context menu (by right clicking the mouse).
In geany to toggle line wrapping I have to:
- navigate to -> preferences->editor->line wrapping - change setting - close editor window - reopen editor window - view changes - and repeat the same to go back to the original mode.
Is there an easier way?

Yes. You can assign a keyboard shortcut via Edit . . . preferences . . . keybindings.
Scroll down to "Document" and look for "Toggle Line Wrapping". I have mine set for ctrl+shift+w, but that's a personal preference :-) You could use whatever you wish.

Why do you close the document here?

Use the Document->Line Wrapping menu option.
