Hi,
due to an server and OS upgrade, I'll move all services and data from the current server which runs geany.org and uvena.de to a new one. This affects mostly www.geany.org, download.geany.org and these mailing lists.
I'll plan to start the move this afternoon, around 14:00 UTC.
I don't expect bigger problems, so it should be a short outage, mainly because of DNS caches (server IP will change). In preparation I already reduced the TTL of the domains, so updates should go quickly, I hope.
I'll post again once everything is up and running again.
A little later than planned, I moved all the data and started the services on the new server. So far, everything went fine.
It might happen that some DNS servers didn't flush their cache yet for the domains but in general everything should be and running again.
Unfortunately, there were bigger delays in DNS caching than necesary. This was because I didn't reduce the TTLs correctly and so the servers in the net still served the old server IP. I'm very sorry for the inconvenience.
Though this problem should solve soon by itself as the default TTL of one day is over and so the resolvers/caches should re-ask the authorative name servers of uvena.de/geany.org and so get the new results. This also caused some mails to not delivered yet, mainly a few mailing lists mails and SVN commit mails from Sourceforge. I expect to see them delivered soon within the next hours.
But there is also good news:
Most of the Geany web services (www.geany.org, newsletter.geany.org, dowload.geany.org, ...) are now also available via IPv6.
