I have not been able to find the markdown plugin for Geany for CentOS 7 on EPEL despite a number of other plugins being available. I filed a bug report some time ago so it may eventually be resolved.
In the meantime, has anyone found it in a repository or should I compile all plugins from the Geany website?
Hi,
Is anyone else seeing this issue? I have to select a file or sub-directory and
then click on the open button to navigate or open a file. This just started
about a month ago. I am running on Fedora 26 and tried with Wayland or Gnome on
Xorg, the problem remains.

Jerry
Is there a way to insert (at line head) and / or append (to line tail)
arbitrary text strings to a selection? I've used another editor with that
feature and it's pretty handy. If not, is there a way to pass values to a
custom format command? I have a shell script that could be invoked, but I
don't see a way to enter the pre / post text.
Maybe I just need to come up with a regex to do it...
Thanks.

It's Linux only. So this should not be the problem.

Hi there,
I'd like to give access to geany for users of an guest account on a Linux Mint 18.2 system. I did some modifications on the guest account following this link: https://sites.google.com/site/easylinuxtipsproject/2#TOC-Customize-the-froz…
The problem is I can't open existing files or save new files on a sambashare in my network with geany while in guest mode.
I can open and save them with other editors like Xed.
No other applications I tested so far show similar behavior (oOffice, gimp, Xed).
I can open the progam and (temporary) save new files to the guest desktop. (Geany can open these file too.)
Starting geany with geany -v in terminal does not show any hints.
Geany works fine in normal user accounts.
Any ideas how to solve this?
I couldn't test the normal guest account of LM 18.2 so far.
Thanks for reading!

I'm using tab+spaces together with 4 char indent as my default settings.
Now I have a project with shared code and I must disable tabs. One other
developer uses tabs with 4 char width.
So I've used the project settings again. I open the settings from the
main menu (Project->Settings) and select the label "Identation" (German
"Einrückung"). Here I changed the setup of "Type" from "tabs with spaces"
to "spaces".
This doesn't work. Indentation is still done with tabs and spaces.
What is the correct way to use the project related settings?
Hi,
Context action is really useful but currently you can only specify one
command. Is it possible to allow users to add more commands and select,
for example, via a menu?

Hi All,
I would like to know if anyone knows a comfortable way to display a web
page for the current selection based on the language type and ideally a
pattern.
I think of something like this:
- right click on a selection
- choose some context menu item
- depending on the selected text open a browser with a search result
- search page should ideally depend on file/language type and pattern.
So if the file is a "C" file then, e.g. search the glib reference manual
if selected text matches "g_*". On no better match (as a default for the
language "C" search on a general "C" page (e.g. www.cplusplus.com).
Is there any existing comfortable solution for this? Thanks for all
replies in advance.
Best Regards,
Lars
Is it possible to create a filedef for a single file? For example instead
of defining the extension as "*.txt", could it be "todo.txt"?
Secondly, how can I set highlighting for "any string starting with @". Is
that possible?
