Custom syntax highlightings

Hello people! I'm trying to customize a theme and i've some question for you: 1)is it possible to set a custom color for elements such \n in a string? for example s = "hi pal\n", 'hi pal' have to be black, '\n' have to be green. 2)Is it possible to define a color only for user defined identifiers? 3)what "string_1, string_2, ..., string_4" are for? what's the difference? where i can find some documentation about it? same for identifier_x and keyword_x Thanks MedeoTL

Yellow number?

Hi! I can not know what is thas yellow number that I see close to lines number. I read all HELP but not found. Hi, I was trying to run not GUI but console windows applications. Here are my steps: 1). Compilation. Build -> Set Build Commands: %HOMEPATH%\GITworks\diygeiger_mk161\Tools\mkl2mkp_en -i "%f" It works - when I press F8, an empty (black) Win console appears, but I can see the output of mkl2mkp_en.exe in Geany Compiler output window. 1). Upload to device: %HOMEPATH%\GITworks\diygeiger_mk161\Tools\pmkcom-0.18.i386.win32.exe %d\%e.mkp --p 3 -s 19200 -wp 0 6 Also works, with the same empty Win console. 3). Run compiled binary in a Win emulator: %HOMEPATH%\GITworks\diygeiger_mk161\Tools\vk6.exe -i %d\%e.mkp This is what I would like to be running not in an empty win console. Hello World, Does geany support syntax highlighting for GLSL? If yes, what extensions are used for them? If no, how do I add C syntax highlighting for their extensions? sharing snippets between two file types

Hi Geany Users, I am looking for a way to share the same snippets in two file types A and B. Ideally allowing each file type to have shared and unique snippets, but just sharing the same ones would be OK too. In snippets.conf I have a list of [HTML] file snippets. I would like to use those snippets in [PHP] files as well. I could just copy the snippets from [HTML] to [PHP] but that seems redundant, and means having to add new snippets in two places. I could also put all the snippets under [Default], and that would work pretty well, but then all the snippets would be available in all file types. I was wondering if there is a trick like [HTML, PHP] as a shared header (that appears not to work). Maybe something I can set in filtypes.html or filetypes.php to treat them as the same file type? Hide/Show tabs

Hello everyone, Is there a way to hide/show the tabs bar (only) with a shortcut? Currently F9 works well with sidebar, but I have it on the right, and my tabs are on the left. And hide/show all supplementary windows is not good because it toggle Toolsbar & Messagesbar also... Maybe in hidden preferences? Or with an unknow plugin? I made some researches but didn't find anything :/ Thank you

I want to follow up on the part of this old thread which is complaining about the behavior of the backspace in Scintilla, which will sometimes trigger a forward delete in an indentation context I also find this really annoying and pointless and would like to disable it from what I can gather, the behavior is governed by a property in Scintilla called backspace-undeletes what I would hope to be able to do is to use the plugin API to pass a message to Scintilla to knock off doing this is there such a message I can send, or would I have to patch the geany source to call a lower-level Scintilla function not exposed through the message-passing? failing that, I expect I can write a script or macro that moves the cursor one space left and then does a forward delete (potentially in a loop indexed by the indentation value defined by the conf settings), and bind the backspace key to that? is there any reason why that would fail?

Suggestion re documentation.

I have a tiny suggestion re documentation. I think it would be helpful for newcomers (like me) if the Geany documentation could include a table of keyboard shortcuts with entries arranged by alph order of keys; something like this: F1 Help F2 Switch to editor etc ... Alt-Down Scroll down by one line Alt-End Go to End of Display Line etc ... Ctrl-- Zoom out etc ... Ctrl-Z Undo I've just made such a table for myself (85 lines) by cut-and-paste from http://www.geany.org/manual/#configurable-keybindings I immediately found some very useful shortcuts Maybe such a table exists somewhere already? In which case, my apologies. Richard H

When I double click on a Perl variable like $data it only selects data and misses the $. Is there anyway to change this behavior? * *

Recording Macros / Keyboard bindings

Hello, I have installed the Macros plugin, but you have to use the mouse a lot to use it: You have to go to "Tools > Record Macro", then enter a shortcut on a window, and finish with "Tools > Stop Recording". I was wondering if there is an alternative to start/stop recording from the keyboard. Ideally I'd press something like "Ctrl+M" to start recording and then "Ctrl+M" to stop recording, and always use the same key to run the macro. That way I could use macros entirely from the keyboard. Is anyone aware of any option to do that? AFAICT you cannot assign key bindings to start/stop macro.
