RFC: Ubuntu colour scheme for geany

Attached is a preliminary version of a Geany colour scheme for my fellow Ubuntu fanboys and girls. Even if you dont use Ubuntu, you might like it, so feel free to drop it into ~/.config/geany/colorschemes and try it out. Hi folks, Sorry for that Geany-OT posting... but please be so kind and take some second to check whether your mail client is respecting the threading when answering a post. I've got a lot of spitted up threads here and it's really annoying and time consuming to put them together again. In details: When answering a post, your mail client (or at latest yout mail server) should add a message ID to your mail. This can be checked in source of your mail and looks similar to: Message-ID: <527B726C.9070200(a)frank.uvena.de> (it's another post of myself) Also when hitting answer, your client should add the References and In-Reply-To header to new mail. Also pelase don't answer to the collection of mails. Cheers, Frank

line numbers wild card

Is there a wild card for inserting line number of current line into the script? Something usable in both Python and JavaScript? i.e., alert('%LN -Line number where this alert occurred'); or such. Thanks!

Creating a version of Geany for Microcontrollers

Hi guys, I like a lot geany, it is very powerful, and simple, fast... ;) I think that it is the best candidate to be the base of a IDE for microcontroler's... As the beginning using SDCC(it start to support one MCU of my interest...STM8). I don't know how to start :S , I just downloaded the source code...I see that it is almost a C project ;) I need to change some things in the graphical fronted...I never played with gtk, or glade :(. And worst, I don't know what files to change and where ...but i have compiled it successfully. Any description of the folder's in the role of geany ? Thanks in advance regards tux

Hi, Thanks all, have made some progress on theming the sidebar: style "geanyStyle" { # text input base[NORMAL] = "#222222" text[NORMAL] = "#aaaaaa" # etc ... } widget "Geany*" style "geanyStyle" # widget "GeanyDialogSearch.*.GtkEntry" style "geanyStyle" # widget "GeanyDialog*.*.GtkEntry" style "widgets" # std colors, doesn't work It works. As you can see this themes the search bar and dialog widgets also, which is mostly fine. The only issue that bugs me is that it makes the dialog radio/checkbox buttons hard to read. I tried to reset the dialogs but it didn't work. I'm rarely in the preference dialog these days, so no big deal. If anyone knows the path to the sidebar widget (or the autocomplete popup menu) it would be great. Thanks for the replies. And kind offers of condolences. But I'm afraid I didn't make myself clear. If, in the normal edit window, I type the line 'for i=1, 10 do'<enter> I want it to automatically go to the next line with that line indented 3 spaces. ( or 2 or 4 or whatever the indentations is set to) and when I enter a line 'end'<enter> the 'end' is automatically unindented whatever the setting is. I'm aware of using snippets and tabs within macros. It seems with Geany that is used to do this (Geany 1.18 or 1.19) But my memory is not so good these days and I may be wrong. But I'm sure that it used to work in Scite (but does not work now) which uses Scintilla same as Geany. I don't remember how I made it work in Scite or Geany. But both have gone through several upgrades since those days and my memory may be flawed about this. If this isn't possible any more, I understand and thank-you for any offers of assistance. Doug

Execute SQP in geany

Hello list, It's my first time posting here, so please advise if I say anything dumb. I'm using Geany 1.23.1 on Ubuntu 12.04. 1. I am able to execute (hit F5) fine for Python files. But for SQL script, I ran into this error: ./geany_run_script.sh: 5: ./geany_run_script.sh: ./ex1: not found (ex1.sql is the name of my script.) 2. Another oddity is that, after using the terminal in geany, I can no longer use F5 to execute even Python scripts, while manually clicking on Execute in the toolbar still works fine. The problem seems to lie in my own foggy gray-matter. What I remember as working in older versions obviously doesn't and apparently never did. I have been unable to get geany to auto-indent to the right level after a previous line ends with {, and to get geany to auto-unindent to the right level after the previous line ends with }. Any pointers appreciated. Frank Harrell

enabling automatic indentation/unindentation in Lua

I've been using Geany on Ubuntu 'Precise' 12.04 for a year (both 1.21 and now 1.23.1 since it came out). I'm no programmer ( far from it!) and I've only gotten my hands and fingers to work well enough, since my stroke, to have any competence at typing. The big thing I liked in Scite was its ability to automatically indent based on Lua rules. I can't even get that to work in Scite now. Is there any way to do that with Geany? Can I set it to indent such lines as 'for' or 'do' and, possibly, UNindent 'end' lines? I mean short of C coding. I've tried fiddling with all the settings in Preferences but I'm just not competent enough to make the auto indentation work for Lua. (It's a struggle just to make Lua do what I want) Thanks for any help or trying to help. Doug
