[Geany] Workflow to use projects in geany

I've just started using projects in geany and find them quite useful. I've created several projects and move between them quite often. The pop up asking me to confirm if I want to close the current project is rather annoying. If there are no unsaved changes and I've just selected a different project then ther eis no reason I need to confirm again that I want to close the current project. Thanks, VIneet

[Geany] Compare two files

A common use case for me is to have to files open in geany that I would like to compare. Ideally the launch of meld is integrated with geany. However if that is not possible, I would like to be able to easily get the path of the open file so that I can cut and paste it into meld. Right click file in either file browser / document browser and copy path of the first file. _. paste it in meld Right click file in either file browser / document browser and copy path of the second file. _. paste it in meld and then do the comparison. Can I currently get the path of an open file? Thanks, Vineet

[Geany] file side panel and base folder in projects

[Geany] Couple of questions from a new user

- How do I replace side panel tabs with icons I work on a laptop and they take up a lot of space. If I want to switch tabs I have to move my mouse to the arrow button and find the side panel tab to switch to. Icons would be much better (like the ones gedit uses). - How do I make the full screen for source view enlarge just the source window. I'm guessing that is the behavior that would be most common. [Geany] Compile menu doesn't change

I'm using geany 0.19.1 on Ubuntu Karmic using the PPA. Today I've tried the user defined make commands of the project settings. This looks really nice, but they only appear in the menu. The extended menu of the make button of the toolbar doesn't change. Any hints? By the way... could you add the feature to add additional build rules? [Geany] Create Tags

Hi. I'm trying to create a list of labels(Tags) for pygtk. The format I use is generally pipe and I give is: # format=pipe gtk.AboutDialog||()| ... .. etc. Then save the file with the name pygtk.py.tags in the folder ~/.config/geany/tags/ Reset Geany and create a file of type scripts (Python). Write gtk .. but the label does not appear. I searched all emails from the list but did not find a specific answer to my problem. I appreciate any help Regards

[Geany] greanygdb can't find ttyhelper on FreeBSD

Hello! I'm maintainer of geany-plugins FreeBSD port. Today I tried to update port from v0.18 to v0.19, and everything was fine but one thing: geanygdb can't find ttyhelper. I install plugins manually with FreeBSD makefile, and I tried to Install ttyhelper to many directories, where it could work (The way I see it, is that it should be in same dir as geanygdb plugin) In FreeBSD we install 3rd party software to /usr/local so geany plugins goes to /usr/local/lib/geany. I tried to install ttyhelper to /usr/local/lib/geany/ /usr/local/lib/geany-plugins/ /usr/local/libexec/geany/ /usr/local/libexec/geany-plugins/ I even tried to install it to /usr/local/bin/ it just doesn't work.... I don't understand why.... any hints? Here's my current work on plugins: http://files.bsdroot.lv/pub/FreeBSD/ports/ports/devel/geany-plugins/Makefile I marked geanygdb broken for now... [Geany] Another request from a new user

I've recently moved from ultraedit to geany and so far love it. There is however one thing I really miss. - In ultraedit, you can highlight a work and then search on it using the search key f3. Then you can replace the word using ctrl v and press continue your search using f3. In geany: - You can highlight the word and search on it using f3. Then you can replace the work using ctrl v and that's where the problem arises, you can no longer continue with the search you were doing. Is there any way to change this behavior? I really really miss it.

[Geany] will there ever be a syntax color chooser ?

Hi, Will there ever be any plans to have a syntax color chooser? Eg. in PHP the text is a gory orange that hurts my eyes. There is no editor out of the box that has everyone's perfect colors.
