[Geany] end key and visual line break

Hi folks, I am using Geany for editing some LaTeX files, using the visual line break option. From other editors I am used to press the "end" key for jumping to the visual line break, not to the actual line end. I found the key binding "alt-end" and I want to swap those two. In the options there is the "go to line end" with its end key changeable, but not the "alt +end" shortcut. Is this possible at all? What did I miss? Currently I am using Geany 0.16, but I didn't find anything in the changelog to 0.17, I will try that version later. MFG (With friendly regards) Heiko Studt

[Geany] current_line

I'm using Geany 0.14 on a new Debian Lenny install. And I can't seem to disable the highlighting of the current line. This was possible in the version of Geany that shipped with Debian Etch (possibly version 0.9). I have added current_line=0x0;0xffffff;false;false to ~/.geany/geany.conf but it has no affect. Is the feature still available? Thanks.

[Geany] Sending build output to console; snippet filetype recognition

Hi, can I somehow let the build commands be caught and executed by the terminal widget? I love one-click builds (using cd build-"%e" && make all && ./"%e" ). But I use the terminal a lot, so I want to avoid switching between the compiler and terminal widget. What I would also find awesome is tabbed terminals - you could run IPython a second one :) The second topic is that my C++ snippets do not get recognized in *.h files, even though my filetype_extension.conf lists *.h files under C++. Did I miss something? Thanks for your amazing work, I really love the Geany. - Matt

[Geany] about the function " find"

Dear export, I'm sorry I can't described exactly, let me use an example. 1. I want to look for a character string ,I usually I use " ctrl+f", but I have to use "ctrl+f" for each time, that because the " find" window will disappear after find the words . 2. when I found a word I need, I could not click my mouse, if I clicked, the "word" would not display anymore. he would disappear too , and how to set the "background color" that can display it outstandingly in text (the default is black). 3. there is a "find" window on the top, at right, can I add some buttons used as looking for " previous" or "nest" words? [Geany] Feature request - hiding tabs/spaces problem

Hi! Recently I tried to change some python library and I have encountered really big problem - those guys used spaces instead of tabs (I don't want any flame war, so let's not go into this issue). Is there any possibility, that geany could display tabs, even though there spaces and edit it using tabs altohugh they would be saved as spaces? And yeah, I remember that someone has to write this code and it won't happen in day :-) but if you could add it to some wishlist, then it would be cool :-) -- Filip Gruszczyński

[Geany] Using Geany to edit QuickBook/Boostbook files - has anyone done so?

Hi all - I'm about to help out with doing some docs for Boost::Spirit (a parser lib that is part of Boost). I'll be using a tool called "QuickBook" which I believe is very similar to BoostBook. Anyway, I found this section in the Boost docs about using the Scintilla editing component (which Geany uses, iirc) to highlight Quickbook tags - http://www.boost.org/doc/libs/1_39_0/doc/html/quickbook/editors.html It gives this snippet of code - qbk=*.qbk lexer.*.qbk=props use.tabs.$(qbk)=0 tab.size.$(qbk)=4 indent.size.$(qbk)=4 style.props.32=$(font.base) comment.stream.start.props=[/ comment.stream.end.props=] comment.box.start.props=[/ comment.box.middle.props= comment.box.end.props=] A question or two here - a) Has anyone used Geany to edit QuickBook files? b) In Geany's dir structure, where would I put the above code snippet so that .qbk files are highlighted? [Geany] Windows Explorer right click gives me shortened 8.3 dos file names.

Hello All, Thanks everyone for producing a wonderful IDE. I use it in both in Linux and Windows. However there is a problem that has really been bugging me in Windows and I cannot find an easy fix. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, upgrading to the latest version, but the problem still remains. When I open a file for example "ScintillaLicense.txt" using File Open the full name "ScintillaLicense.txt" in the tab. However if open this file by right clicking in Windows Explorer and using the context menu and then select "open with Geany" I get the shortened 8.3 dos file name in the tab so that "ScintillaLicense.txt" appears as "SCINTI~1.TXT" and the path is also shortened to "C:\PROGRA~1\Geany\doc\" instead of "C:\Program Files\Geany\doc\". Below is copy of the Status Window messages. 12:22:32: This is Geany 0.17. 12:30:21: File C:\PROGRA~1\Geany\doc\SCINTI~1.TXT opened(1). 12:30:57: File C:\Program Files\Geany\doc\ScintillaLicense.txt opened(2). I am guessing that this is a windows registry problem, but you would have thought that completely uninstalling and reinstalling Geany would have fixed this problem. [Geany] C++ Code Completion

Hi, maybe this is a stupid question, but how do I get C++ code completion? In python, everything works out of the box, with some minor mixups between classes and variables. In C++ however, all that happens is that the main function is recognized. Im using geany 0.17 Wessex on Fedora 10 Cambridge. Thanks, Matt

[Geany] Two feature requests

I've got two more feature requests. First is - I believe - rather small. When I add new document and press save, the file dialog starts in my home. Could it start directory of the file on the tab left to the new one? Usually, when I am working on some project and I want to add a file, I want to add inside the project dir, not somewhere else. That would make this operation much faster. Second one is bigger though: why geany doesn't have any kind of Trac? It would be much easier to post bugs or feature requests there, instead of mailing list, and they would be much more visible. -- Filip Gruszczyński
