[Geany] Executing compiled code on windows error

Hi I've just discovered geany(0.16) and install it on my PC (XP). I can't wait to learn more about it. But, I'm having the same issue that Paul Karcher wrote about back on April 2 . When I try to compile a FreeBasic source file (error_function.bas), I get: "Process failed (Failed to execute child process (No such file or directory)" The following is present in the bottom window: "fbc" -w all "error_function.bas" (in directory: C:\Programs\FreeBasic\MyPrograms) The source file is in "MyPrograms". I just found that if (and only if) the source file is in the same directory as the compiler executable, it compiles successfully. So if I move "error_function.bas" into C:\Programs\FreeBasic, where fbc.exe resides, it compiles successfully. I haven't change any configurations. Any thoughts? Lin

[Geany] geany on ubuntu 9.04

I am trying to install svn version of geany on ubuntu 9.04. When I try to run ./autogen.sh I get **Error**: You must have `glib' installed. You can get it from: ftp://ftp.gtk.org/pub/gtk So I install: root@gruszczy-laptop:~/packages/geany# apt-get install glibc-source Czytanie list pakietów... Gotowe Budowanie drzewa zależności Odczyt informacji o stanie... Gotowe glibc-source jest już w najnowszej wersji. but it says, that it is already installed in the newest version. I can use 0.16 from repo, but I prefer using svn version to test geany (that's the least I can do for my favourite editor ;-)). Could you help me on installing it? -- Filip Gruszczyński

Yeah. I think this would be a little out of Geany's scope :). Even though this could bring a lot of new features, it's a lot of work to be done before and someone needs to do it. [Geany] disabled CSS completion

Hello, I want to know how I can disable CSS completion ? I hate this ^^ Also, I do'nt know if this is a completion. But when I write "border" for example, I've a list with all border in CSS file. I wish that this list does not appear. Thank.

[Geany] Find dialog.

Hi all, Is there a way to disable the "Wrap search and find again?" dialog or at least make the default "Find" not "Cancel"? [Geany] ANN: Addons plugin 0.1

Hey folks, here is a new plugin: Addons 0.1. It's more or less just a container plugin which contains various small additions which are not worth creating a new plugin for but also too good to not have them :). Currently it consists of the following components: - DocList: This addon places a new item in the toolbar and when clicked offers a menu listing all open files plus the 'Close All' and 'Close Other Documents' menu items. This can be useful to quickly access open files and switch to them. - OpenURI: Adds 'Open URI' and 'Copy URI' menu items to the editor menu when the word under the cursor looks like a URI. 'Open URI' uses the browser command configured in Geany to open it. - Tasks: The tasks plugin goes through a file being edited and picks out lines with "TODO" or "FIXME" in them. It collects the text after those words and puts them in a new "Tasks" tab in the message window. Clicking on a task in that tab takes you to the line in the file where the task was defined. Thanks to Bert Vermuelen who wrote the Tasks component, great job. Other developers are welcome to contribute little additions to this plugin in case they don't want to create a separate plugin for. Hello, I have been using geany on windows for a while and on linux for even longer without issues. However after installing .16 for windows I am having trouble executing my (java/python)files, I receive the following error: "g_spawn_async() failed: Failed to execute child process (No such file or directory)" after attempting to run them. This error only occurs after starting Geany more than once, reinstalling solves the problem but only until the program is exited. Thanks, Paul

[Geany] copy selection on drag&drop

Hi everybody, my name is Christopher and I'm new to the list. I'm using Geany to edit php-files and cook my coffee. Here's my question: It's stated in the manual, that while holding the Ctrl-key on dragging marked text, Geany should copy this text to the release place - but it doesn't. If the marked text contains a symbol, the cursor jumps to its first occurence, otherwise the cursor just enhances/cropps the selection. It's a hotkey, right? [Geany] V0.16 on Windows: Position & Size changed after closing and re-opening

Hello World, Hello Enrico, geany: 0.16 "Argon" Windows: XP SP3, all patches applied If I open geany and set it at a certain position, it does open an a completely different position and size after having closed and re-opened it. Although the checkbox "Fensterposition und -grösse speichern" is checked. It might be a problem, if I open a second instance and close it before closing the "main" instance? [Geany] Merge toolbar + menu

Dear Geany Devs, Since I only use a couple of toolbar items, it would be really nice if the toolbar could be merged with the menu so that the extra 'toolbar' isn't needed anymore. Example: [=======================Geany======================_oX] [File Edit Search ... Build Tools Help <toolbar items>] [tabs |tabs ] [sidebar|editor ] [ | ] [ | ] [ | ] [=====================================================] I also have the same configuration in Firefox (menu + bookmark folder), and it saves me a reasonable amount of screen estate (especially on my 10" 1024x600px EEE PC).
