[Geany] autocomplete terminology confusion

It seems like Geany offers 2 ways of helping complete what you're in the middle of typing: 1. Autocomplete construct -- where you hit Tab and get completion of the preceding construct, which is defined in your autocomplete.conf file, and 2. Complete word -- where you hit Ctrl-Space and get completion of the preceding partial word, which is a symbol somewhere else in the file which Geany knows about via its built-in understanding of tags. Is that correct?

[Geany] Build on Windows

Hi all I just noticed that build is now enabled on Windows. make seems to work, but I think there is an issue with plain compile: I created a hello.c and invoked compile, which resulted in the following output: gcc -Wall -c "hello.c" (in directory d:\dev\hell) gcc: "hello.c": Invalid argument gcc: No input files Compilation finished What seems to happen is that geany somehow "overquotes" the filename, as I get the same result, when on cmd.exe, when I type: gcc -Wall -c "\"hello.c\"" If I type gcc -Wall -c "hello.c" It works. I assume therefore that on windows, gcc is not called from a shell, but directly with exec, where the quotes are not being removed. Tried to fix this myself, but I couldn't find the relevant bits in build.c. Bye Tim

[Geany] Do not allow Geany/VTE to override bash shortcuts

Dear list, I'd like to use some bash-related shortcuts in Geany's embedded VTE terminal emulator. Like: * ctrl-l (clear terminal) * ctrl-r (reverse-i-search) * ctrl-k (remove from cursor to EOL) * ctrl-u (remove from cursor to BOL) * etc... Geany overrides some of these shortcuts by default (examples: ctrl-l = goto line nr, ctrl-r = reload) Is there a way to disable all Geany shortcuts while the VTE window has focus? -H-

[Geany] 'Strip trailing spaces' menu option

[Geany] Incredible Program but I cannot find information on how to add my code to the symbols window.

I see on the screen shots that each one has a list on the left hand side in the symbols menu. On mine it says no symbols. How can I add the code snippets there to be used as I am writing my code? [Geany] Plugin (Wish)list on the website

Hi, we added a plugin information page on Geany's website[1]. This page wants to list already available plugins as well as a list of requested plugins. To keep maintenance and efforts to add items to this list low, I made it editable for all. So, if anyone wants to add something, feel free to do so. I hope it won't be misused by spammers, let's see what happens. It is anyway a good idea to also post any wishes or whatever to the list and use a link to the post in the mailing list archives[2] as a reference on the wiki page. Just an idea. [Geany] what exactly is Alt-Backspace doing?

What command does Alt-Backspace do? It seems to undo largish swaths of things, but interferes with the real undo, leaving it's handiwork un-undoable. Actually, it's not obvious what it's exactly doing. I hit Alt-Backspace occasionally by accident because it's the Emacs and Bash shell command for "backspace over previous word". It would be nice if it did nothing when I accidentally hit it (like how Alt-Delete does nothing). ---John
