Hi...
This is the first time i write to the list. I started to translate geany to my native language (greek). Here is the steps i done so far:
-install svg to my linux box -download svn geany: svn co https://geany.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/geany/trunk geany -after i install the needed dev packages i run succesfull: ./autogen.sh -then i create the el_GR.po file: msginit -l el_GR -o el_GR.po - i geany.pot -and i translate already 50 lines using kbabel -after i add el_GR in LINGUAS file, i run intl_stats.sh to check the translation status
this is i know so far. what more need i to do? what else need to learn about svn? how can i get to the geany translation statistics http://geany.uvena.de/i18n/ ?
sorry about the questions but its all new to me thanks...

Great. You'r near the finish line. To install and test your translation rerun the configure Skript and do a make all install. Now you should see your translated strings inside new started Geany.
The next step will be to send me (or any other develper) your po-file, so that we can upload it to svn. You can send it either to the mailinglist or directly to my private address.

Well, tehre are a lot of things to learn about svn. It's a real great Version Controll System. ;)
how can i get to the geany translation statistics http://geany.uvena.de/i18n/ ?
This is a half automaticly, half Enrico-powered process. It will be added after your translation is commited to svn.
Frank
P.S. Sorry for don't answering to your private mail yesterday. I was quiete busy. Will be done this evening.

But you don't need to learn Subversion itself just for translating Geany. Basically you don't need Subversion at all. You can get the latest pot and po files from http://geany.uvena.de/i18n/geany.pot and the corresponding po file from http://geany.uvena.de/i18n/el_GR.po once it has been added to Subversion. Alternatively, you can grab the files from http://geany.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/geany/trunk/po/ using your browser to download them.

Well, the only thing I do is to add your name to the script, everything else is done automatically every night when the statistics are generated ;-).
