Hi folks,
During review of German translation of Geany-Plugins I found a number
of author's names marked as translatable. I don't see any big reason
for doing this as most likely (and from my current point of view in all
cases) it's just a copy & paste task when doing the translation.
Therefor I suggest to don't mark author's names as a translatable at
all. What do you think about?
Cheers,
Frank

Hello,
I agreed that there isn't any reason to leave the translator's names
translatable...although there isn't any science in a copy&paste either ;)
Kind regards,
André

Note: I do not translate LaTeX plugin due to I have never used LaTeX
system.
Note2: I have sent same mail via another mail account.
attachment file (ja.po) is completely same.

Hello all,
Frank, does this mean a new "string freeze" date will be announced, or the
current strings will hold?
Just to plan my translations ;)
Kind regards,
André

I'm sorry to tell you that due to some offline topics we will not be
able to make it on the planned schedule, so Geany and most probably also
the Geany-Plugins release of 0.20 will be delayed for some time. We
will announce a new date shortly ;)
However, this is giving us the chance for improving the translations as
well as to do some further testing :)
Cheers,

Hi translators and friends of Geany-(Plugins),
After we are on finishing line with Geany 0.20, I'm happy we also have
a string freeze for the combined Geany-plugins project which is also
planned to be released in next future.
As always on such mails, I'd be very happy if you could send a patch or
complete file with translation to either the geany-i18n mailing list or
direct to me within the next two weeks so we can include it to the next
release. Deadline will be 2010-12-28.
To make it more easy for you I've already uploaded updated versions of
the po files to svn with r1778. You can access them as always at
http://geany.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/geany-plugins/trunk/geany-plugins
or by checking out the svn tree of Geany by using e.g.
svn co https://geany.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/geany-plugins/trunk/geany-plugins geany-plugins
Fans of git can also use the interface provided by http://git.geany.org
by using
git clone http://git.geany.org/git/geany-plugins
Also at http://i18n.geany.org/plugins are statistics and daily updated
files available.
As mentioned before, we are trying to have all translations complete by
2010-12-28.
If your language was translated by two or more in past, please double
check directly with them or by pinging me, so we don't need to translate
same things two or three times. Also please feel to ping me for every
question or if you like to start a new translation for an unsupported
language.
Thanks and happy translating ;)

Hello,
The dutch translation is updated.
A small remark: after inspecting the latest translation source, I
wondered if it would be more clear to write "Smart HOME key" with
capitals, instead of "Smart home key" in the file interface.c:
#: ../src/interface.c:3703
msgid "\"Smart\" home key"
In most cases, the real keyboards will have the word "Home" displayed on
one key, and it is typically not translated.
Best wishes and happy new year!
Peter Scholtens
Hi,
After the cycle for Geany 0.20 is going to end soon, we need to think
about scheduling a new release of Geanys combined plugins project which
are depending on Geany 0.20.
Given that the plugins shouldn't be release too far away from Geany
core, but there is still some work to do in terms of e.g. removing some
ugly compiler warnings I do suggest these schedule:
Last changes which are touching strings: Saturday, 18th
String freeze: 19.12
Last translations checkin: 27.12
Release: ~ 28.12
This would give us about 1 week for some translating work and all in
all >2 weeks for fixing last outstanding bugs and issues.
Of course the times are depending on the status of developers after the
Xmas holidays :)
What do you think? Is this something doable? ;)
Cheers,
Frank

Hi translators and friends of Geany,
As Nick already mentioned on Geany-devel mailing list [1] we are
entering home stretch for our next major release of Geany: 0.20 which
is planned to be released around 2012-12-20 with a delay of 2 month
on 5th anniversary of Geany ;)
After 0.19.1 and 0.19.2 were only fixing a couple of bugs and
doing only small improvements during the last month, the new release
will introduce a number of improvements, bugfixes and of course also new
features. Unfortunately this means for us translators, that there are a
number of strings which needs to be translated and/or reviewed before
we can ship the new release. Therefor I like to ask all 'old' and maybe
new translators to check the translations so we really could put in
updated translations files into the new release.
I'd be very happy if you could send a patch or complete file with
translation to either the geany-i18n mailing list or direct to me
within the next two weeks so we can include it to the next release.
Deadline will be 2010-12-18.
To make it more easy for you I've already uploaded updated versions of

or by checking out the svn tree of Geany by using e.g.
