My name is not on the translator list in about dialog.
So sad for me :(...
Anyway i suggest adding info about this on https://www.geany.org/Contribute/Translators so translations can know what to do.
Or do as many other software does like GNOME only show the translators of the language being using.
And then in the po files have:
#. some text telling translators what to do like one translator name per line msgid "translator-credits" msgstr "" "name1 email1@email.email\n" "name2 email2@email.email\n" "name3"
I prefer no email so i would like it to work both with and without email.
Also i see the list of translators on both: https://github.com/geany/geany/blob/master/THANKS https://github.com/geany/geany/blob/master/src/about.c
" - eu" seems to be missing on THANKS: Asier Iturralde Sarasola <asier(dt)iturralde(at)gmail(dot)com>
Missing space after "-": Benjamin Ballet <benjamin(dot)ballet(at)gmail(dot)com> -fr
Hi,
I'm afraid this part of source is not very well maintained during the last years. We got a huge number of contributors for translations -- huge thanks! It's always amazing -- but keeping THANKS and about.c up2date was harder than we originally thought, when we introduced this. Well -- I'm open for ideas to change it.

Well if it dont say any where how to be added on the list then that could be changed so translators can know how to get on the list.
Or instead of a long of all the translators it could say something like ... look in the individual po files to see who translated the different languages.
Then translators can keep the header updated them self.
Just an idea. Not saying its the best thing to do.
I guess sometimes it can be good to see a long list but i think most times i am only looking to see how translated the software into the language i am using.
But if someone adds information about how to get added to the lists on https://www.geany.org/Contribute/Translators then that would be ok.

The list could be updated by using the Git log, for example:
git log --pretty=format:"%an" *.po | sort -u
It might take some massaging to eliminate the same person using different names/spellings or nick names, but it probably wouldn't be that hard (the list is fairly short).
The procedure to get one's self listed in the About dialog could simply be that you provide Git patches with your real, full name, or whoever commits the changes uses the --author option to add the name when doing the commit.
Just an idea.
