help :go to tag defination

go to defination does not work for non opened files, (i.e )it only works for workspace tags. How to make it work for files in global tags. This is what i have tried, 1)inside ~/geany/src executed following command, geany -g -h geany.c.tags *.c *.h 2)loaded tag file. 3)for example ,main.c :890 configuration_load() right click then goto tag defination says no defination found. I am frustruated,for weeks for finding a IDE which i am comfortable with,I am finally fit with Geany. Please help me resolve the problem. Is there any plugin supporting gtags and global.? Compiling 1.23.1 under Windows

Hi, I tried to $subject, and ran into small problems. First, geany_private.rc now includes geany.exe.manifest, but the 1.23.1 bzip lacks this file. Maybe the gzip archive has it, I havent tested. Copying a manifest from the current git works fine. It has the geany version set to 1.24.0.0 though. "C:\MINGW\BIN\windres.exe: can't open file `geany.exe.manifest': No such file or directory" -- Second, both the mail announcement for 1.23.1 and the archive files are dated after May 05, but wscript lacks the code which alters the C compiler detection under Win~1. So waf properly detects msvc on my system, and Geany fails to build. Speaking of which, it'll be a good idea to change the C++ compiler detection as well - I don't think a mix of gcc-compiled Geany sources and msvc-compiled Scintilla will work. If we don't want to release 1.23.1.1 (or 1.23.2) ASAP, I'll change and test the compiler detection under Win~1 tomorrow. -- E-gards: Jimmy

patches to extend Markdown syntax highlighting

Hello, I recently cooked up a few minor patches to geany and sent them to Nick, see email quoted below. He told me it would be best if I subscribe to this list, so here I am. About me: I am a physicist-turned-neuroscientist, and I write texts including equations on a daily basis. Of course LaTeX is the established tool for that, but though it is very powerful it is also incredibly cumbersome to use. If you're writing just a short note the preamble can be longer than the actual text, you have to type \ { } and long environment and command names all the time, if you just make a small mistake you get cryptic unhelpful error messages, etc. etc. I guess that's why MS Word is so popular. ;-) However, writing formulas in anything else than LaTeX is even more cumbersome. That is why I was happy to find out that pandoc, a popular Markdown processor, supports LaTeX output and just copies LaTeX equations from the Markdown source into the LaTeX source. Great, the only thing missing is a versatile editor / lightweight IDE, and this is where Geany comes in. I wrote a few wrapper scripts in order to start Markdown+LaTeX processing from Geany through pandoc & pdflatex and show the result in acroread. – As I wrote below, I'm not a developer. I know some programming languages, including C and a bit of C++, but the only one I use regularly is Matlab. An addition to the email below: I have found since that the syntax highlighting especially of display equation blocks "$$-$$", but also of embedded images "![]()" is very unstable. It is possible that this is due to a bug introduced by me, but I don't see how since I basically duplicated existing code. Do you have any other reports about problems with the Markdown syntax highlighting code? Hi everybody :) I'm a computer engineering student and from 6 months Geany has become my primary IDE. I used to write my (little) programs with simple editors, since any kind of IDE turned into a heavyweight software for my computer. So Geany represents for me the perfect solution for a fast and comfortable development. Now, I thinks it's time for me to join the Geany development, in order to contribute to the software I use every day. New Lua script available: Multiple clipboard support

Hi, folks. I've uploaded yet another Lua script :). Actually, a pair of them, one for copying and one for pasting. They allow you to use multiple clipboards. The copy script copies to both the regular clipboard and a disk file; the paste script allows you to browse the clipboard files and paste from any of them. At present there is no built-in way to clean up files; you need to delete them manually. Perhaps in a future revision. I'm also thinking of reversing the order of the clipboard files when pasting, so that the most recently copied text shows up first. The files are under 100 lines each, so if anyone wants to port them to GeanyPy, include them in a plugin, etc, it shouldn't be difficult.
