Smart tabs

Hi, folks. I recently came across some articles on the Emacs wiki about spaces vs tabs: http://www.emacswiki.org/emacs/SmartTabs http://www.emacswiki.org/emacs/TabsAreEvil Their argument is that tabs should be used for indentation, while spaces should be used to align text when a long line is split. Makes sense to me. Is there, or should there be, support for this idea in Geany (or more likely in a plugin)? Probably this would not be suitable for Python, of course, but it works for C-style languages. I could probably write a Lua script that would split a long line using this idea: same number of tabs as the original, then spaces to align the new line with the last bracket on the previous one. Maybe bound to Shift+Enter. Any thoughts? Thrawn

Adding keybindings

There are several actions available that have no keybindings, but have logical candidates available. For example: Preferences is Ctrl+Alt+P, so it would make sense for Plugin Preferences to be Ctrl+Shift+Alt+P. Other possible candidates: - Select to previous word part: Ctrl+Shift+Slash (Go to Previous Word Part defaults to Ctrl+Slash) - Select to next word part: Ctrl+Shift+Backslash - Toggle All Additional Widgets: Shift+F11 or Ctrl+F11 (Fullscreen mode is F11) - Find Next Selection: Ctrl+Alt+g or Ctrl+Alt+F - Find Previous Selection: Ctrl+Shift+Alt+g or Ctrl+Shift+Alt+F Anyone's thoughts on this?

Geany 1.24 memory leak - mremap() Segmentation fault

Hi all, i experienced "Segmentation fault" while trying to open newly created *empty* .php file. Steps to reproduce : 1. Create empty <Test.php> file somewhere. 2. Navigate under terminal to folder where is created file 3. geanv -v <Test.php> 4. New Lua script: find project file extensions

Just a very small script this time, to detect and list the file extensions contained in the open project. Image in manual wrong

Note to whoever generates the images in the manual or Colomban by default. The image for the prefs->editor->indentation dialog still shows the hard width entry. This was removed by 1b5182333<https://github.com/geany/geany/commit/1b51823339c5208c4a568451bedd71a8e5bfa…> back on 28/04/2010. I think its time to re-generate the image :) Maybe now, because it will be forgotten by next release. Indentation in RTL languages is different from indentation in LTR languages

Good evening! Recently I tried to use Geany to edit the code of some GNOME projects. The settings of indentation is different from project to project. Usually, the settings of indentation it is based on spaces, not tabs. I am running the Geany in Hebrew language. I saw that indentation is not displayed as required in Hebrew. To run Geany on Hebrew: LANG=he_IL.UTF-8 geany I'd be happy if the bug is fixed. More Lua scripts: alternative (Vim-style) word navigation

Hi, again. Yet more Lua scripts available (on Geany wiki), this time fixing one of my gripes with Geany: word navigation completely skips punctuation as if it were whitespace. The scripts instead provide Vim-style word navigation, which treats a block of punctuation like a word. You can use GeanyLua's keybindings support to easily bind them to Ctrl+Right etc. They arose out of my work on the Vim keybindings script. If anyone wants WORD versions, I can easily produce those too. Thrawn
