Hi
I just heard on Phoronix that Geany has been bundled in the default Raspbian image (^-^)/

That's a huge audience to be exposed to the editor.
Thought I'd let you know. You guys should post Geany advocacy stuff like this on the news page.

In fact we have used Raspbian on some booths in past running Python-turtle-graphics and others here in Europe (Prague, Chemnitz Linux Days, FrOScon). But I'm not sure whether we have reinstalled them. But of course, great news!

Yeah!
@Akima thanks for the notification.
@Rest do we want to add this to the website as news item?

Why not? On the other hand: is somebody on this planet not using geany as their default editor? ;-)

That's really nice to hear. Geany works very well on Raspberry 3 (and I'd expect 2 as well), it's just a bit laggy on Raspberry 1 (GtkSourceView-based editors seem to be a bit faster on Raspberry 1 than the Scintilla-based ones, I think it has something to do with redrawing). Anyway, Geany is a great match for Raspberry - a lightweight IDE for a lightweight computer.
Cheers,
Jiri
