In keyfile.c there are 4 preferences: msgwin_status_visible, msgwin_compiler_visible, msgwin_messages_visible and msgwin_scribble_visible. My question is: do you need these in the Preferences dialog? If not, it'll be good to at least make them "officially" hidden.
If they exist they should be official though personally I don't know why you would want to hide any of these, compiler and messages are integral to the operation of Geany and then the other couple of tabs don't cost much.
