I use GTK 2.20. By the way I attached pictures of the two versions of the editor.

I successfully compiled and run Geany on Windows using MinGW. However I have a small problem. This might be because GTK 2.18 theming is broken on Windows: http://old.nabble.com/Windows-theme-not-working-in-GTK-2.18.7-td28100899.htm...
If so, use 2.16 instead.
