custom formatting for selections 'sent to terminal'

Dear all This is a bit farfetched, but maybe it is possible. At the moment one may use custom font, font colour and background colour in the embedded VTE. However, can the VTE be flexible enough to allow certain lines to have a different formatting? I am interested in selections 'sent to terminal': would it be feasible to have an option that would ensure, for example, that any 'selection sent to terminal' would be formatted in red colour in the VTE? In case you were wondering I am still rambling on R usage. Some R editors provide custom formatting for inputs and outputs (usually red and blue, respectively) since it eases the recognition and scrolling of results. In Geany I'm using a bare bones console (which is great by me!) and I'm often missing at least some basic formatting. To give you a visual hint of what I'm seeking, I attach a shot from JGR, another from Rcmdr, and a third from Geany. I don`t think that names have to be translated, what if someone`s name is "Bobby Sixkiller" I think some of developers mark names as translatable because theire names sounds differents, is shown differents in some languages (in cyrilic, mandarin,...). But to be honest, i don`t think that the names are the most important think, if code works i think that this is enough. I don't see any big reason for doing this as most likely (and from my current point of view in all cases) it's just a copy & paste task when doing the translation. New string freeze or not?

ANN: String freeze for Geany-Plugins 0.20 release

Hi translators and friends of Geany-(Plugins), After we are on finishing line with Geany 0.20, I'm happy we also have a string freeze for the combined Geany-plugins project which is also planned to be released in next future. As always on such mails, I'd be very happy if you could send a patch or complete file with translation to either the geany-i18n mailing list or direct to me within the next two weeks so we can include it to the next release. Deadline will be 2010-12-28. To make it more easy for you I've already uploaded updated versions of the po files to svn with r1778. You can access them as always at http://geany.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/geany-plugins/trunk/geany-plugins or by checking out the svn tree of Geany by using e.g. svn co https://geany.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/geany-plugins/trunk/geany-plugins geany-plugins Fans of git can also use the interface provided by http://git.geany.org by using git clone http://git.geany.org/git/geany-plugins Also at http://i18n.geany.org/plugins are statistics and daily updated files available. As mentioned before, we are trying to have all translations complete by 2010-12-28. If your language was translated by two or more in past, please double check directly with them or by pinging me, so we don't need to translate same things two or three times. Hi translators and friends of Geany, As Nick already mentioned on Geany-devel mailing list [1] we are entering home stretch for our next major release of Geany: 0.20 which is planned to be released around 2012-12-20 with a delay of 2 month on 5th anniversary of Geany ;) After 0.19.1 and 0.19.2 were only fixing a couple of bugs and doing only small improvements during the last month, the new release will introduce a number of improvements, bugfixes and of course also new features. Unfortunately this means for us translators, that there are a number of strings which needs to be translated and/or reviewed before we can ship the new release. Therefor I like to ask all 'old' and maybe new translators to check the translations so we really could put in updated translations files into the new release. I'd be very happy if you could send a patch or complete file with translation to either the geany-i18n mailing list or direct to me within the next two weeks so we can include it to the next release. Folding problem

First off, a big thanks to Lex Trotman and Frank Lanitz. I've now fixed the help, and settings problems in my plugin, and I think that I've figured out what the problem is when I try to implement remembering of fold states. When I watch what happens in my ln_document_open function (which is called when the "document-open" callback is activated in the plugin on opening a file), as I iterate through the lines for some reason the SC_FOLDLEVELHEADERFLAG flag is not set for any lines including lines where there should be folds. I use scintilla_send_message(sci,SCI_GETFOLDLEVEL,iLineNumber,0) to get the fold level. For some reason, if there is a call to dialogs_show_msgbox in the document-open callback function, then SC_FOLDLEVELHEADERFLAG is set appropriately. Is this a bug? Or does the editor not normally set fold flags until later, and the dialogs_show_msgbox simply forces scintilla to display (and so set fold flags) earlier than it normally would? If so, is there a function I can call that will do this without having to display a message box, or is there another way to activate my code after the fold flags have been calculated? William Fraser

Moving the VTE terminal to the Sidebar

Hi, I wrote a simple little plugin which moves the VTE into the sidebar. The purpose/rational is described in the README at: https://github.com/codebrainz/geany-sidebarterm You can see a screenshot of the plugin in action here: https://github.com/codebrainz/geany-sidebarterm/raw/master/sidebarterm_scre… If you care to test it out, either get the source from the github repository linked above or from this tarball: https://github.com/downloads/codebrainz/geany-sidebarterm/sidebarterm-0.0.1… I'm not very good with Autotools yet, but it seems to configure/compile/install fine here. I've also made an attempt to modify the Geany source itself in order to add an option to choose the terminal location from the preferences dialog, however I'm not very familiar with Geany's source so I couldn't figure out how to make the preferences stick after Geany is restarted. If anyone is interested, the patch can be found here: https://github.com/codebrainz/geany-sidebarterm/blob/master/geany_vte.patch Assuming the patch applies OK (I removed a bunch of noise by hand), you can see it's almost entirely working with the exception of the preference sticking around on restart of Geany.
