In my daily work I often need to read a lot of log files。Is it possible to consider providing the feature as shown in the image above like "notepad++"。

"config.h" is needed as it defines the GETTEXT_PACKAGE which is necessary to enable translations at all.
Fixes #3628.

I want to save the current file under a new name without changing the name of the file in focus.
It would be like the export macro except that it 'exports' to a plain text file under a name I choose.
It would be like the 'save as' function except that the file in edit focus retains the name it was opened under.
It would be a "write backup" function. Very nice to have would be a default versioning applied to the filename but there be devils there so...
Currently I must either 'save as' and then reload, or drop out to terminal to copy from there. These solutions do the job but are a break in the work flow.

In the status bar "None" have big N and "unknown" have small n.
I'm guessing they should use the same style.

Depending on the output screen used and the text layout, I often find myself switching between the two message windows positions (bottom or right). I think it would be most useful to be able to switch with a keybinding or a button. I did not find neither, so I'm writing this suggestion as a "feature request". Thank you all for this great IDE.

While resizing the main window or dialogs like the preferences dialog, they disappear at certain sizes:
<img width="746" alt="Screenshot 2023-10-22 at 11 15 45" src="https://github.com/geany/geany-osx/assets/713965/99af9540-3d8d-4a2c-b43a-0a…">
When the cursor is moved over the dialog or the window is minimized and then re-shown, it starts showing the dialog elements again.
Based on a report from @frlan, this doesn't happen on macOS 13, the window just flickers a bit during the resize.
I've created a bug report upstream here: [6178](https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gtk/-/issues/6178)

If I toggle Document > Line Breaking I don't see any differences.
Is it perhaps not working?

It is nice that the environment variables `LANG` & `LANGUAGE` can be used to override the system locale. But I think it would be even more user friendly to have a configuration option under preferences that would override both system & environment specified language.
It seems there are quite a few users who think there is no locale support or just aren't sure how to change languages. While "I don't have time to read the docs" generally isn't a good excuse, being able to configure the language from within the UI will lead to less confusion, especially for non-Posix system users.
If I get time, I may see if I can add the option myself & create a pull/merge request.

I use arch with xfce4. After last update of geany-git (git >= 1b06889fe) I have blurry text inside editor. Only in editor, fonts in menu/settings are good. Check out font view from editor settings and inside editor.

Can I change hintstyle/antialias with custom font settings at the start? Is it geany or purely GTK issue? removing `.config/geany` didn't change anything.
