Set up Geany too use python3: GOTO > Tools > Configuration Files > Filetype 
Configuration > Scripting Languages > filetypes.python -->
Change: EX_00_CM=python2 "%f" > EX_00_CM=python3 "%f"
Restart Geany.

This worked for me. It's your decision to make.
