[Geany-Users] Make script executable from within Geany

This is beginning to be strange!

I am running geany in Debian 9 with the Mate desktop. I launch geany
from the Panel with command:

  [geany --vte-lib /usr/lib/x86_64-libvte-2.91.so.0 %F]

However a file search for libvte-2.91.so yielded:
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libvte-2.91.so.0 link to shared library
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libvte-2.91.so.0.4600.1 shared library

This is consistent with the Debian packages list.

The file in the launcher does not exist!

I also found that I cannot launch geany from the command line using

~$ geany --vte-lib /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libvte-2.91.so.0.4600.1
~$ geany --vte-lib /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libvte-2.91.so.0

I get GLib-GObject warnings and critical errors.

But the original command does work on the command line:

~$ geany --vte-lib /usr/lib/x86_64-libvte-2.91.so.0

Puzzled!
