There is a known bug in some versions of the the Glib library that
uses a lot of CPU, but it only appears when you use the scope plugin
(as far as we know, but maybe something else triggers it as well).

Try running Geany with no plugins, then enable those you want one at a time.

Its probable that Linux has a different version of the Glib library to
Windows since it is a system library distributed with Mint and not
included with Geany. So it may not have the problem.
