this should be possible with the upcoming 0.19 release, at least to
some extend.

You could read http://geany.org/manual/dev/#filetype-definition-files,
in particular the section about Custom Filetypes, and add a
filetypes.Scala.conf in ~/.config/geany/filedefs to play with it.
