I am running Geany 0.16 on Ubuntu 8.04 and the feature you asked is

You need to update to Geany 0.16, if its doesnt happen via official 
repos, add the PPA for Geany Developers

Copy this text to a file,in Authentication Tab of Software Sources, click Import Key and select this file
Then reload the index. Update manager will find the new version and update you to 0.16
