[Geany] scrolling down to the bottom

I think  this feature was added on 2007-11-06,
~line 425 of src/document.c :

   SSM(sci, SCI_SETENDATLASTLINE, FALSE, 0);

Personally, I think it is a little confusing, it appears to me
that the document has a bunch of blank lines at the end
that really aren't there. Maybe there should be a preference
option for this?
