This issue is because of GtkNotebook, and I would also prefer if it
behaved like Firefox. But I don't really think we should spend time on
workarounds within Geany to fix design issues with GTK+ (for one
thing, it would be inconsistent with other GTK apps). The best thing to
do would be to add comments to the existing bugs for GTK at:
bugzilla.gnome.org

(And even better than that is for someone to write a patch for GTK ;-))
