Try the 'Smart line indent' keybinding command. You will need to define
a shortcut for it first (I use Ctrl-Alt-I). This will indent all
selected lines to the same level as the preceding line. Then you can
indent the block manually using ctrl-i or tab (or add shift for
unindent).
