The only timeout_add I found is in Scintilla and it is used among
others for the blinking caret. So, it doesn't make much sense to
disable it in any way.

Where did you found nanosleep?

There is one select call in the code for using an already running
instance. This can be easily disabled by starting Geany with
--new-instance (see docs).
