Sorry, this is probably some wildly off topic question but has been
bothering me since I met the project (I'm a curious guy)

Where did you get that name from ? I know it is supposed to remind me
of "Genie" and stuff but... is it just Genie fun-spelled or is it
Genie in another language or is it something completely different ?

Just got curious since Geany is a girls name in my country... although
the pronounce would be completely different than that of Genie :P
